The Electric Water Pageant at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge

Electric Sea Serpent
The Electric Water Pageant is a magical water parade that happens every single night on Bay Lake and the Seven Seas Lagoon. It started in 1971 as a dedication to Disney’s Polynesian resort and still manages to awe visitors 42 years later.

As a guest of the Wilderness Lodge, you have a front row seat to this spectacle….on the resort’s beach. Just head down to the beach a little before 9:30 p.m. and wait for the pageant. Be careful though, the beach can be very dark at night and we wouldn’t want anyone to trip over the lounge chairs.

At about 9:30 you’ll hear the magical sounds of the music from the water pageant as the first floats come into view. The entire pageant consists of two strings of seven barges, each carrying a 25-foot high screen of lights and includes King Triton, whales, sea turtles and a sea monster. You’ll recognize the music – it’s “Under the Sea” from The Little Mermaid and the crocodile’s theme from Peter Pan. The pageant ends with stars and the American flag as a tribute to the USA, including a medley of all-American tunes such as “God Bless America,” “Yankee Doodle,” and “You’re a Grand Old Flag.”

And while we think the beach is a great spot to watch the Electric Water Pageant, you can also view it from the boat docks or your room, if you’re lucky enough to have a courtyard view. It’s definitely a must-see parade!

Thanks so much to Traci C. for this great Guest Post!
