We recently reported on the upcoming construction project planned at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. The construction project is slated to begin this October and last for nearly two years as Disney builds 26 waterside bungalows and refurbishes the DVC Villa pool.
Guests who have reservations at the Wilderness Lodge this fall are starting to receive letters from the resort informing them of the construction.
In part, the letter states that “refurbishment work will be taking place at our Resort during your visit. In preparation for your upcoming stay please note the details of that work below:
– Upon your arrival you will notice construction work in various areas as we enhance our Resort. Please be aware that certain pathways, including the nature trail, will be unavailable. Noise may be overheard while this work is being completed, but rest assured, construction will not begin until after 9 a.m.
– Hidden Springs Pool, the leisure pool at The Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, is scheduled to close for enhancement in late October along with the beach, marina, and playground. During this time our recently-renovated Silver Creek Springs Pool featuring a 67-foot water slide and play area for kids will remain open for your use.”
The letter goes on to state that guests will be able to rent bikes near the jogging trail and can also visit Fort Wilderness or the Contemporary to rent boats or to enjoy Movies Under the Stars. The nightly movies will be shown inside the Wilderness Lodge (rather than on the beach) during the construction project.
Guests who have booked through Walt Disney World Resort can call 407-827-2595 with any questions they have about the construction project’s impact on their stay. Disney Vacation Club members can contact DVC member services with questions about stays in the Villas.
