The Christmas tree is up at the Wilderness Lodge! It went up overnight on Sunday, November 22 and guests awoke to a full decorated hotel on Monday, November 23!
I was lucky enough to be one of those guests and I have to tell you the resort looks beautiful. The tree is gorgeous (of course) but you really need to explore the lobby and soak it all in.
There is garland hanging from each floor in the lobby and there are several smaller trees near the sitting areas. Outside Roaring Fork you’ll also find some very festive wreaths!
In other resort news, we all know that the Wilderness Lodge is in the midst of a huge construction project but I’m happy to report that we didn’t experience any disruptions during our visit.
Our rooms were located in the north-facing section of the hotel – we had a great view of Wishes each night – so we were located away from the Villas. The pool at the Villas is where most of the work is apparently happening right now but even during the day we didn’t hear any noise when we were visiting the Silver Creek Springs pool.
The only noticeable change right now was the “decorative” scrim that was up around the beach and jogging path area. The scrim featured trees so as to blend in with the area. It wasn’t too distracting.
When we checked in to our rooms we discovered a set of Disney pins featuring Mickey, Donald, and Pluto in construction gear – they were a “thanks for staying with us” and a “sorry we’re under construction” gift. The kids loved them!
While the construction is sure to pick up soon, we were relieved to not be disturbed by it during our stay.
And the fact that the hotel was decorated for the holidays made everything much more magical!
