Getting from Disney’s Wilderness Lodge to one of the Walt Disney World Resort theme parks, water parks, or Downtown Disney is relatively easy if you know your transportation options.
Wilderness Lodge guests have two choices when it comes to Disney Parks transportation – the bus or a boat.
The boat dock is located on Bay Lake in the back of the hotel’s property. To find it just follow the path past the Silver Creek Springs pool and there is a walkway that leads to the boat dock.
The boats from Wilderness Lodge will take guests to the Magic Kingdom, the Contemporary Resort, or Fort Wilderness. Taking the boat back to Wilderness Lodge from the Magic Kingdom is a great option in the evening as the bus lines can become rather long and stressful.
We find the boat to be a much more relaxing ride overall.
The bus stop at Wilderness Lodge is outside past the Villa. The buses from Wilderness Lodge will take guests to the four theme parks, Fort Wilderness, Blizzard Beach, Winter Sumemerland, Typhoon Lagoon, and Downtown Disney/Disney Springs.
If you need to travel to another Walt Disney World Resort hotel (other than the Contemporary) you will need to take a bus to the theme park closest to the hotel you’re traveling to and then transfer buses. For example: If you have reservations at the Animal Kingdom Lodge we recommend taking the bus to Disney’s Animal Kingdom and then transferring to the Animal Kingdom Lodge bus.
It’s a bit tedious to travel that way but right now it’s the only way to get from hotel to hotel, other than calling a taxi. And the taxi ride isn’t free.
